Kathleen has spent decades expanding her knowledge of the natural world and learning techniques we can implement in our everyday lives to work towards a  balance between people and place. 

As an undergraduate Geography student and throughout her early career Kathleen devoted her time to working directly with the public, governmental and private agencies teaching sustainable stewardship practices aimed at conservation, land management and she spent a tremendous amount of time working within the natural environment itself.  While teaching the public techniques to impart less impact on our valuable natural resources it became clear to Kathleen how much people wanted to know more and help the environment in their everyday lives. 

As a graduate student in sustainability science Kathleen has furthered her understanding of current laws and practices pertaining to sustainable construction and development. It continues to be clear to Kathleen that we are a society that needs and wants to learn and adapt to a future which promotes a balance between people and place.

Serving as a Park Ranger and Naturalist for agencies such as The US Forest Service, US Army Corps of Engineers, State of Colorado, The City of Steamboat Springs,The Audubon Society, The Nature Conservancy  and the State of Massachusetts, Kathleen worked with of a variety of stakeholders, learned their viewpoints and their investment in our natural places throughout the country.

It was the one on one relationships she built with community members, business owners, park visitors and school children that had the lasting impact. This is where the mission for Treetop Holdings came from. Living a sustainable lifestyle and putting concepts into practice as an individual and community member. Being a part of the solution and living a lifestyle that aligns with our natural world.  

Whether working as a consultant, public servant, volunteer, Realtor, lobbyist and educator, Kathleen learned how everyday simple approaches to conservation could have a lasting impact on our natural and developed spaces alike.
